La Son High Tech Industrial Park is planned in the area of Loc Bon commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue Province. The area of this IP is 1081 ha. Master plan process is under reviewing by Vietnamese government. Expected approved of master plan is Quarter 1 of 2024.
Industries attracting investment in La Son High-Tech Industrial Park include electronics, information technology, mechanics, medical equipment, and industries that do not pollute the environment.

The project area is located in a light-rich area, with an average number of sunshine hours per month of the year being 2,096 hours. In the dry season months, the average number of sunshine hours per day is usually 6-7 hours higher than in the rainy season months.
The average number of rainy days per year is 150 days, accounting for 41% of the days in the year. The rainy season takes place in the last months of the year (October – December), while the rainy season lasts less than 8 months (January – September). In the rainy months, floods often occur. The rainfall during this period accounts for 75 – 80% of the yearly rainfall.

– Summer: East wind, Southeast wind, Southwest wind accompanied by hot dry air. West wind (Lao wind) is dry and hot: Prevalent in May – October.

– The period of high air humidity lasts from October of the previous year to April of the following year ( 87-95 %).
– The period of low air humidity lasts from March to September and coincides with the period of hot, dry southwest monsoon activity. During this period, relative air humidity drops to 76-82%, with the lowest relative humidity (minimum) falling in June.
According to 36-year Statistical data (from 1961- 2020), Thua Thien Hue was most affected by storms in September (accounting for 35%), then October (28%) and August (18%). On average, the Thua Thien Hue area has about 0.87 storms making direct landfall every year. However, some years there are no storms, and some years there are 4 consecutive storms.
Thua Thien Hue has a road system of about 2,500km including: National Highway 1A running through the province from North to South; The system of provincial roads running parallel to and crossing National Highway 1A includes: provincial roads 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8A, 8B, 10A, 10B, 10C, 11A, 11B, 15 and other provinces . other route;
As for the expressway, currently, running through Hue, there is the North-South expressway, including: Cam Lo (Quang Tri) – La Son (Thua Thien Hue) section with a total length of 98.35km, ; The La Son (Thua Thien Hue) – Tuy Loan (Da Nang) route has a total length of 77.5km.
Thua Thien Hue has a total of about 563km of rivers and lagoons. Besides, the province has two seaports: Chan May deep-water port and Thuan An port. Thuan An port is about 13km northeast of Hue city center, including 5 150m long piers, capable of receiving 1000 ton ships. Chan May Port is located in Chan May economic zone, Lang Co, 49km south of Hue city. Status of Chan May ports are as follow
– Wharf No. 1: + Outer wharf: • Receiving ship size: Cargo ship: 50,000DWT; Passenger ships: 225,282GRT; • Berth length: 300m.
– Wharf No. 2: + Berth No. 2 has a length of 280m, capable of receiving cargo ships with a total tonnage of up to 50,000DWT.
– Wharf No. 3: + 50,000 DWT wharf, size 45 x270m.
– Wharf No. 4 & No. 5: Invest in building 02 wharves for general cargo/container ships, each wharf length is 270m, ensuring the ability to receive general cargo ships up to 70,000 DWT , container ships up to 4,000 TEU.
Thua Thien Hue currently has Phu Bai international airport located on Highway 1, about 15 km south of Hue city. Flights here mainly serve the travel needs of tourists, ensuring the safety of Airbus 320 and Boeing 747 aircraft to take off and land safely.
Regarding geographical location, Phu Bai airport is only 80km north of Da Nang airport, travel time by car is about 1 hour 40 minutes.
Thua Thien Hue’s terrain has many rivers and streams with steep slopes suitable for small and medium hydropower development. Thua Thien Hue province has a capacity of 504MW operating 79MW from Solar, and 425 MW from Hydro power.
The pipeline network managed by HueWACO includes 16 water plants and 2,000km of pipelines from D400 – D1,000 distributed throughout the province. The rate of people using hygienic water in the whole province is 95%, of which the rate of using clean water is 68%. Although HueWACO has been chosen by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a pilot model for safe water supply nationwide, the above numbers are only the minimum rate according to standard regulations for rural communes. new, Hue needs to focus more on investing in clean water supply systems.
Thua Thien Hue communication system meets increasing demands for quality and reliability. The whole province has 58 switching points, including 03 control switchboards (HOST) and 55 satellite switchboards in 3 areas: Central area (Hue city); Northern region (Bach Yen); Southern region (Chan May).
The province’s river system has rich freshwater potential, ensuring irrigation. On the rivers, it is possible to build irrigation works to store water to supply the dry season and highlands.

Regarding wastewater treatment: The combined sewer network for rainwater and wastewater is only built in the central areas of urban areas, most of it is degraded, drainage capacity is only 60-70%. Wastewater treatment facilities at craft village industrial clusters do not meet environmental standards. This situation causes the water sources of rivers and lagoons to be polluted due to discharge points into the rivers.
Regarding solid waste: To date, most solid waste is disposed of by landfilling. Toxic medical solid waste is collected and treated separately in incinerators. Other normal medical solid waste is collected together with domestic solid waste.
