Hi-Tech Park with Tier III+ Standard Data Center

On the morning of 21/3, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park HCMC awarded the investment registration certificate for the project ‘HCMC1 Data Center’, total investment of 56 million USD.

Quang Dung Technology Distribution Joint Stock Company (a member of GreenFeed Group, Vietnam) and NTT Global Data Centers Holding Asia Private Co., Ltd. (belonging to NTT Group, Japan) will jointly invest in building and operating the ¬†Tier III+ high-tech “HCMC1 Data Center” project in Vietnam,¬† with a total investment of 56 million USD, equivalent to 1,300 billion VND.

According to Mr. Ngo Truong Da, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quang Dung Technology Distribution Joint Stock Company, the goal of the project is to provide high-quality data center services for domestic and foreign businesses and organizations, such as colocation system rental services.  Remote support management services, cloud services (cloud),… and research on the application of robotics and automation systems to increase efficiency and accuracy in Data Center operations.

Since then, contributing to improving and perfecting the type of international standard Data Center services in Vietnam, is an important technical foundation to promote digital transformation, meeting the booming demand for digital services and storage in Vietnam and globally. Towards the objectives set out in the National Strategy on the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Resolution No. 52 of the Politburo on a number of guidelines and policies to actively participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

“Partnering with NTT, the world’s leading telecommunications and data center service provider, is our great honor to provide ICT services and the benefits of a world-class data center to our customers in the Vietnamese market with significant growth in demand for digital services Digitals and infrastructure.

This will be a place for customers to trust and put their data into our data bank,” Da said.


Perspective of HCMC1 Data Center Project.

According to Mr. Yasuo Suzuki, Managing Director of NTT Global Data Centers Holding Asia, Ho Chi Minh City. HCM is a promising market with huge growth potential. “We are committed to best serving all our customers and achieving their business goals through digital transformation,” Yasuo Suzuki pledged.

“HCMC1 Data Center” is located at Lot T4-2, D12 Street, Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park. HCMC, with a land area of 10,000 m2, total floor area of 16,649 m2, is designed, built and operated based on advanced global data center standards with improvements from NTT according to its experience in operating data centers in multinational countries around the globe.

It is expected that “HCMC1 Data Center” will complete phase 1 in the first quarter of 2024, complete phase 2 in the first quarter of 2026 and come into stable operation.

Tier standards are evaluated based on the standards of the Uptime Institute (USA). This is a standard used to measure criteria such as design, operation, construction, management and stability of a Data Center (Data Center). There are 4 levels of Data Center evaluation. In particular, Tier III+ has an expected uptime of up to 99.982% (only about 1.6 hours of downtime per year).
